Well my first one hurt a bit, but I think that's only because I didn't know what to expect. My ribs tattoo, though...that was really bad. If you're kind of squeamish about pain, DON'T get a tattoo on your ribs. But other than that, it really isn't a PLESANT feeling, but it is definatly bearable. [:
